Celtic and Rangers share top spot in the SPL after 4 games. Each have the maximum of 12 points, but Celtic's goal difference is +9 to our +6. Dundee United are currently in 7th. place with 5 points from 4 games. Nevertheless expect a hard and competitive game as usual between these two teams. After a great result on Tuesday night in Manchester Walter has to see who is available, how he can freshen up his team and what tactics to use. My guess is that he will bring in Weiss, Lafferty, Beattie and Jelavic into a more attacking line-up, but with Walter you can never be sure.
My team would be McGregor, Whittaker, Boughera, Weir, Papac, Weiss, Davis, McCulloch, Lafferty, Miller and Jelavic, but I think Walter may rest Miller and start Beattie to get him match fit. Alternatively Miller could start and be replaced by Beattie if/when we are two goals ahead.
Walter may keep Weiss on the bench and play Naismith, but I would like to see Weiss start. The team should be up for this game after the boost provided on Tuesday night, so I expect them to get off to a good start. On the other hand Dundee United will now see Rangers as a big scalp after Tuesday night and be even more motivated. Hopefully they will not try a 5 man defense at Ibrox.
My prediction is we win 3-1 with Miller and Jelavic again amongst the goals. I do hope that Saturday sees the return to form of Steve Davis. Our midfield has been struggling a little of late.
A good day at Ibrox is what the fans expect so I hope the team come out flying and get a good win.
