Motherwell versus Rangers at Fir Park Motherwell, on Wednesday February 10th., 2010. Kick-Off 7:45 PM.

After Celtic's star studded team failed to win their game in hand at Kilmarnock, Rangers remain 10 points clear at the top of the table.
Rangers have 54 points from 23 games and a goal difference of +40, whereas Celtic have 44 points from 23 games and a goal difference of +20.

When we are playing M'well at Fir Park Celtic will be playing Hearts at Celtic Park. Motherwell currently lie in 5th place in the SPL and Hearts are one spot behind them in 6th place.

Motherwell have been in good form and will be hard to beat. They have a very experienced managership duo in Craig Brown and Archie Knox. They will set out their team to frustrate Rangers and hit on the break. They must have seen at Paisley this weekend just how much we lack pace, width and creativity.

Walter will need to change this and hopefully will do so by playing Novo wide and having Miller and Boyd fit to start up front. I really think we will also see other changes. I believe Whittaker will start at RB. David Weir will replace Wilson at CH. Papac will return at LB. In midfield I hope Davis and McCulloch are in the centre, but who plays left midfield is a question. It could be anyone from Thomson, Fleck, Lafferty, Naismith, Wylde, but not Beasley as he will need some more time yet again.

I think Walter will play this team: McGregor, Whittaker, Bougherra, Weir, Papac, Novo, Davis, McCulloch, Lafferty, Miller and Boyd.

I know Lafferty will NOT be a popular choice but I have a haunch he will start at left midfield.

Motherwell have been playing well and this will be a really tough match. Craig and Archie will be trying their very best to put one over on Walter. I hope they are very unsuccessful. We know this, like all our games just now, is a must win game and Walter has not been very successful at this venue these past few years. We just cannot afford to drop any points before the upcoming Celtic game. We cannot afford to give them any hope.

My prediction is we win this game by a single goal. Motherwell 1 - 2 Rangers. Miller and Boyd to score.

If we can win all our games this month we are in a terrific position to win the SPL. Let's start Wednesday at Motherwell.
