  1. This was the team that started. Rangers currently up 2-1 at HT.
  2. Feel those saying he flops about are being quite harsh. The Aberdeen defenders went through the back of him a fair few times including a couple of elbows to the head. The only thing I would say is he needs to stop getting tangled up on the ground/when he's getting up and the booking he picked up was needless and stupid.
  3. Happens with the midfield too. Sometimes they just run straight at the defence or goalkeeper when they have the ball so there's no option but to pass it straight back to them
  4. Normally you could say or you'd expect us to try something different given how ineffective the wingers have been. Maybe a 4-4-2 diamond so you have the midfield 3, McKay in the ten and Waghorn/Garner up front. I feel like that plays to those players' strengths. However we know the situation with MW and the current formation.
  5. I think that's fair based on what we've seen so far.
  6. I thought we were at our best last season when our wingers were driving at players and beating them. That seems to have stopped now and they often pass inside or dribble inside slowing the game down. Not only are the players not performing but we also seem to have a lack of quality options out there at the moment: Mckay- not been performing recently and I have seen a lot of calls today for him to be moved centrally into the number 10 position. Waghorn- I was a big advocate of him playing wide right last season and starting this season because he used to go breeze past players quite easily and had a good burst of pace. However that seems to have disappeared and I can't actually remember the last time he dribbled past someone. Add to that more calls for him to start centrally after his hat-trick last week. Forrester- another option on the wing but I actually prefer him in one of the 3 midfield slots. Miller- to me he can't play out wide. Doesn't have the legs anymore and fast paced dribbling attributes we need. Dodoo- manager seems to think he is a central striker. O'Halloran- lots of pace but no footballing brain. If he had Miller or Forrester's brain we'd have some player. He doesn't seem to link up well with Tavernier either. Hard to say whether a run of games would do him good but doesn't look like he's going to get it. I've gone through all the options there. Thoughts? Which two would you pick?
  7. Today we constantly had a spare man in midfield. We actually to work the ball out of defence very well and quite often we found Holt or Forrester in lots of space. It was once we got into the final third that the problems surfaced.
  8. Everyone criticises when the defence makes mistakes but we are doing nothing going forward. We are so slow, soft and predictable in the final third and we've been like that in nearly every game. We doing nothing special around the box and half the time I don't even think we look like scoring. Nobody wants to take the ball and do something special to grab the game by the scruff of the neck. Today the only clear cut chances I would say we had from open play were Waghorn's and Holt's. We create nowhere near the amount of chances we should for the possession we have.
  9. I like him. He's a nuisance and ruffles up the opposition. Help the ball up well today and won us a lot of fouls. He got hit in the back today a few times today so I don't blame him for going down. I like him being aggressive but the booking was stupid. He could also stop getting tangled up on the ground. I don't want him to lose that side of his game but also don't want it to come to the point where he's a liability. He was unlucky with the header and probably should've done better with the chance he fluffed. Still don't think they were easy chances. And I don't think we've created enough easy chances for him for us to tell if he's the goalscorer we bought him to be.
  10. The 4-3-3 is working I think. We managed to play the ball very well up until the final third Aberdeen tried to press a little at times but we just passed it round them. Also, quite often we were able to find Holt or Forrester as the spare man in lots of space. It's the final third that's the issue. We are so static in the around and on the edge of the box. We are getting very little from our wide players. I thought we were at our best last season when we had the likes of Mckay and Oduwa running past players but we don't seem to do that now. Everything is so slow and we make too many side-ways passes. I was an advocate of Waghorn playing on the right last season because he used to breeze by players so easily and he had a real burst of pace but I can't remember the last time I saw him go past someone.
  11. We have the second highest wage bill in the league. Do you not think the players and team we have at the moment should be able to beat Hamilton, Kilmarnock, Ross County and Aberdeen?
  12. What clear cut chances did we actually create? We don't do nearly enough with the ball. We are soft in the final third. Garner had a couple and Holt had one but the only one I'd describe as a bad miss was Waghorn's.
  13. We have the second highest wage bill. Fair enough if we were only losing to them but we are dropping points against teams when we are paying much higher wages. I don't want him sacked but it's definitely not good enough and we should be doing better with these players.

  15. Wilson played well too apart from the goal. He didn't win enough headers and gave away a couple of bad fouls in the second half but on the whole he played well too. The whole defence defended well apart from the first goal. But unfortunately no matter how well we are defending I have no confidence that we will keep a clean sheet.
