Passion for the team and anger at the result is good but if it leads to arguing with team mates and unrest in the dressing room then it is poisonous. For a manager who prefers dignified silence to sign someone who was guaranteed to stir up some shit, he must have thought it was a gamble worth taking. I hope Joey starts to repay that trust asap

Fuck it . Was hoping it would be changed. Unlikely to make it

No idea mate. But sacking the manager a month into the season because he hasn't lived up to some fans unrealistic expectations is stupid. Unpopular as that view may make me. The game came too early for us and we are not in any form. Fucking hope it picks up as I have an 800 mile round trip again next weekend. On Saturday our young players carried and outplayed the old ones who were brought in to support them. I hope the young ones are given the stage next week.

Oh ffs let's have some realism. Yes we should never accept second place but the truth is we are only just back in the top flight again and have no money. We played some fantastic football last season (against mainly dross) and convinced ourselves we were the dogs bollocks. We aren't. Sad truth is it may take us a season to catch up and talking of sacking the manager before mid September is a knee jerk in the extreme. Saturday wasn't good enough. Saturday was a wake up call to the players and manager that changes need to be made. Most of our players looked beaten before they kicked a ball yesterday and I think the weight of expectation was heavy on them. Joey Barton had talked the talk and now had to try and walk the walk and failed. Kranjcar was making the kind of desperate moves from the off that a frustrated knackered defender usually makes after extra time in a long game. Senderos lost it totally. The youngsters were carrying the players who were brought in to provide experience ffs. However, this is the team and manager we have for the foreseeable future so we have to get back behind them whatever we think today.

I don't agree with the OP about lack of harmony but I have thought for some time that a lot of the players seem to be feeling the weight of expectation on them and are not playing as freely or with the confidence they had last season. Catch 22 though with victories and confidence

I coached under 8 goalies and defenders for a wee while when we had no coach and some of my 7 years olds had better positional sense .

I think a key thing everyone needs to remember is that NO Warburton does not have the same passion as the rest of us here for an old firm fixture. Not meant as an insult but we have to remember this is a job he is doing, a stepping stone in his career plan, however committed he is to the team. Yes he will have wanted to win and will be annoyed that we lost but it won't be gnawing away at his insides like it is mine
-
Me too but I can't understand how he can make such a bad job of it or if he had input in signings
-
Who is our defence coach? Serious question
-
They played poorly and beat us 5-1. How can that mean that we played any less than shite however you analyse it?
-
Mark, It isn't working. Get your fucking head out of the sand and change it. Now

I agree Halliday is a wee bit weaker BUT and it is a big BUT he has passion and drive for the team in spades and that is better for the overall team than lazy talent. and in no way was I meaning to criticise the players by saying they need to step up. I mean they need to be given that chance

Get the oldies and favourites to fuck out of that lineup. Windass, Rossiter, Garner, Crooks,Halliday Fortester, MOH, get em on that pitch and tell them it's time to step up and be men. Get the speed and hungriness back. That was our strength last year. I thought our plan was to only sign people who had hunger and passion for the club and would fit in. Haven't seen much of that this season so far. Raging
