I'm sure everyone here has watched Ricky Foster trying to play right back, we've all been through tough times.

Speak better English than half the posters, and you'll never want to leave Glasgow after that first step through the Ibrox doors

So basically OP, we have no right to be unhappy with the current situation at the club? Let me tell you my part of the story then.

Ive been a Rangers fan since the early 2000s, the first game ive ever watched was that win in Monaco, where Van Bronckhorst scored the winner. Back then i was a student and i did not have a computer to watch games, and even though i could go on a internet coffee bar and use a computer - bummer, i didnt know fuckin english at the time, so reading the sports pages outside the country wouldnt happen. So all the information i could get was highlights from CL games, and some sport newspaper i was buying. Thank fuck Stiliyan Petrov played for Celtic, because of him media in Bulgaria started having more articles about the SPL, Rangers included.

So, times has passed, i bought my first pc and learned english. For the past 10 years ive been following the Gers regularly, and i havent seen people settling for such woeful performances on the park. As you could probably imagine, there arent so many Rangers fans in Bulgaria, most of the people would usually go for EPL, Spanish sides, because they can watch them on tv every weekend. And thats how i ended up in Rangersmedia 9 years ago, because at least here i could share my passion with other people from all around the world.

Now, ive never been to a Rangers game in my life. Ive never seen a Rangers player live, except Van Bronkhorst in 2006, while he was stretching in a game for Barcelona in the CL. But 3 years ago i finally got a well paid job, so i can save money and hopefully, i will visit Ibrox sometime in 2017.

If i think about it, theres some 3000 km separating me from Ibrox right now. Always been like that and most probably - always will be. So i would take your 300 miles right away, i would bike them every weekend, or i can hitchike aswell, no problem.

My point is simple. Every Rangers fan have its own battle, following the team that they love. Some of the guys here are fighting with their wives, for not paying too much attention to them, and watching the Gers instead. Some others from Australia or South/North America, have to wake up in the middle of the night, in order to watch a Rangers game. Some people, like me, can only hope for internet to be fine, and that we have a free weekend every once in a while, so we can watch games. Other like you, have their 300 miles away.Whatever battle every single person here is facing, doesnt make him a less Rangers fan. And it doesnt mean that people are not allowed to express their anger towards mediocre performances and a manager, having no clue how to turn things around. Sorry for the long post.

I actually know a Rangers fan from Bulgaria, i'm sure there will be others on the forum who know the same guy as he runs a bar in Sunny Beach and always wears a Rangers top and talks constant about us.

You're right though, some people don't know how lucky they are.

We are going through a rough patch but it will only make it all the sweeter when we win 55.

Tried to labour the point on his original Fuck It thread last night. He's literally too dumb to comprehend that others are allowed, and actually have, their own opinion. He could have structured this in such a way that it created a decent discussion, but instead he went for the "I'm the staunchest Rangers fan in the world who travels 300 miles every two weeks and will be getting my pension soon so you all know fuck all and if you disagree then you can fuck right off" approach and has completely fucked it. Looked like a right dick not once, but twice in 2 days. Remarkable achievement really.

The last 4 years were the worst times to be a Rangers fan easily imo.

I'm not so sure. At least there was a spirit, a togetherness (mostly) and a no surrender attitude. Also full houses at Ibrox. In the early eighties there was apathy, tiny crowds and total shite on the pitch.

You being serious? Fans were fairly divided pre King takeover and attendances fluctuated massively, 3rd and 2nd Divison ones were mostly good but our first season in Championship was awful. And as for quality of player, the last 4 years produced the worst 4 squads in Rangers history.

We live in times when a Rangers team weren't even good enough to finish in the top two of the second tier of Scottish Football, the absolute worst performance of any Rangers team in history, 4 years ago we almost went out the game, anyone who says any other time was worse than that are delusional.

Even when Jock Stein managed that mob we got to two European Finals, we were a bloody good side, I can only imagine how hard it was watching them come out on top but thats entirely different to the out and out garbage we've been subjected to these last 5 years

Good post - surely this deserves it's own thread "Fuck it mk3".

The early 80's were pretty shite, but living though Jock Stein's era was horrendous.

Never lived through the Stein era but we did get to two cup winners cup finals in that time, but I'm not old enough but I certainly remember the early 80's very well and growing up,I thought I would never get to see Rangers win the league as Aberdeen, scum Utd had both done well in Europe during this spell and there was also the mhanky mob who we could sneak the odd win or draw against, but that was it, couple of league cups and the Scottish cup was as scarce as the league trophy until that day up at Aberdeen with 10 men and Big Terry's goal , still my favourite league titles.

At least people cared. All I'm saying is it was shit back in the eighties but a different kind of shit

Administration and the Liquidation of the Oldco was brutal, then the fucking shambles after it with that cowboy Green and his band of cunts then we had to deal with watching the pish that was on the park as well.

If that isn't a hard time then fuck knows what is.

You youngsters should all shut it and be more respectful thread............wtf?

I think I'm slightly younger than the OP, but not by much and watched most of the shite that was served up during the 70s and early 80s.

I'll gladly take credit for continuing the thoughts and beliefs of younger fans, that Rangers players, board members and managers past and present, strive for our club to always be at the pinnacle of the game. These values should never be forgotten.

It wasn't worse then. The whole of Scottish football, at this moment is at the worst I've witnessed during my time. Rangers FC is at an all time low in its history, all thanks to (IMO) criminal activity.

The youth of our support will change this, I've no doubt.

The 4 Yorkshiremen - The OP just doesn't get it:

Michael Palin: Ahh.. Very passable, this, very passable.

Graham Chapman: Nothing like a good glass of Chateau de Chassilier wine, ay Gessiah?

Terry Jones: You're right there Obediah.

Eric Idle: Who'd a thought thirty years ago we'd all be sittin' here drinking Chateau de Chassilier wine?

MP: Aye. In them days, we'd a' been glad to have the price of a cup o' tea.

GC: A cup ' COLD tea.

EI: Without milk or sugar.

TJ: OR tea!

MP: In a filthy, cracked cup.

EI: We never used to have a cup. We used to have to drink out of a rolled up newspaper.

GC: The best WE could manage was to suck on a piece of damp cloth.

TJ: But you know, we were happy in those days, though we were poor.

MP: Aye. BECAUSE we were poor. My old Dad used to say to me, 'Money doesn't buy you happiness.'

EI: 'E was right. I was happier then and I had NOTHIN'. We used to live in this tiny old house, with greaaaaat big holes in the roof.

GC: House? You were lucky to have a HOUSE! We used to live in one room, all hundred and twenty six of us, no furniture. Half the floor was missing; we were all huddled together in one corner for fear of FALLING!

TJ: You were lucky to have a ROOM! - We used to have to live in a corridor!

MP: Ohhhh we used to DREAM of livin' in a corridor! Would a' been a palace to us. We used to live in an old water tank on a rubbish tip. We got woken up every morning by having a load of rotting fish dumped all over us! House!? Hmph.

EI: Well when I say 'house' it was only a hole in the ground covered by a piece of tarpolin, but it was a house to US.

GC: We were evicted from our hole in the ground; we had to go and live in a lake!

TJ: You were lucky to have a LAKE! There were a hundred and sixty of us living in a small shoebox in the middle of the road.

MP: Cardboard box?

TJ: Aye.

MP: You were lucky. We lived for three months in a brown paper bag in a septic tank. We used to have to get up at six o'clock in the morning, clean the bag, eat a crust of stale bread, go to work down mill for fourteen hours a day week in-week out. When we got home, our Dad would thrash us to sleep with his belt!

GC: Luxury. We used to have to get out of the lake at three o'clock in the morning, clean the lake, eat a handful of hot gravel, go to work at the mill every day for tuppence a month, come home, and Dad would beat us around the head and neck with a broken bottle, if we were LUCKY!

TJ: Well we had it tough. We used to have to get up out of the shoebox at twelve o'clock at night, and LICK the road clean with our tongues. We had half a handful of freezing cold gravel, worked twenty-four hours a day at the mill for fourpence every six years, and when we got home, our Dad would slice us in two with a bread knife.

EI: Right. I had to get up in the morning at ten o'clock at night, half an hour before I went to bed, drink a cup of sulphuric acid, work twenty-nine hours a day down mill, and pay mill owner for permission to come to work, and when we got home, our Dad and our mother would kill us, and dance about on our graves singing 'Hallelujah.'

MP: But you try and tell the young people today that... and they won't believe ya'.

ALL: Nope, nope..
