Yes he comes with a lot of baggage but our clubs reputation is tarnished at every opportunity so his would make no difference to the mhedia up here. Maybe his wages wouldn't be an issue after all the cash he's made on backhanders and maybe he'd jump right back into management after his last escapade. Seems like a guy who doesn't really give a fuck about what's going on around him. It's his chewing gum antics that make it a no from me. If you can't chew with your mouth closed you don't deserve to be a ranger. 3 people like this
Posted November 6 As I said in another thread, we'd have to settle for the Rangers Men dream team of Bomber, Goalie and Nacho

Posted November 6 We need a young, hungry manager out to make a name and improve players. I'd look in Germany, bundesliga 2 (or 3, cause that's the level we are just now). We need fit, robust players who can hold the ball, then look up and pass quickly and accurately. With a desire to win. I feel as if I'm talking to my 9 yo son. We don't even have the basics right just now 1 person likes this

In all seriousness I would probably put Nigel Pearson's name forward over the usual pish that comes up Davies, McInnes etc. Pearson is a grade A fruitcake. He'd make an arse of himself under the pressure of managing us 1 person likes this
Posted November 6 Realistically Derek McInnes, think he would be odds on for it if Warburton was sacked.
Posted November 6 Neil Lennon would be a good shout. Won the Spl under tough circumstances and done quite well at Bolton.
Posted November 6 McInnes everyone knows I have been hoping he gets the job since ally left.
Posted November 6 or Eddie Howe when Warburton beats him to the England job.
Posted November 6 I'd like someone with similar philosophies to Warburton and someone who get the team saying well. Dont really know who fits that bill tho. Disregarding what I said above, Harry redknapp?

This might sound really mental, but without serious investment that King promised I don't think Howe would do any better than Warburton. His styles are similar and he needs to have talented, hungry, young players that can play a good passing game. He won't do any better with these players. I think what needs to happen is either 1 of 2 things : Back Waburton and give him serious cash to get the standard of player that can execute his style of play. Sack Warburton and go back to a basic, direct style of play perhaps more suited to us with no money to spend - although some spending would still be required but not to the same extent as the option above. Someone like Big Sam would be good for that. Right now I'd take either but neither is not an option, which in typical Rangers fashion seems to be the way we are doing things. 1 person likes this

Someone like arry doesn't retire, they just take time out until somthing that interests them comes along, probs even Alex Ferguson could be coaxed out of retirement for the right job (that's not a suggestion BTW)

We said exactly the same in a thread a few week ago mate back the gaffer or sack him straight forward as that... 1 person likes this

Posted November 6 There's only one Manager who is out of a job who was in contention the last time we were in the market. Karl Robinson. I'm certainly not suggesting him, but just pointing it out.
Posted November 6 Realistic option probably wouldn't be an overly popular one but for me it's Derek McInnes, forget Allardyce, de Boer or Tony Pulis, guys who'll demand around £2m a year, we need a guy to come in and kick balls immediately, steady the ship, get us into Europe and start challenging and winning honours again, when that happens and money starts coming into the club we can then look to upgrade to someone with the stature of Big Sam etc...
